Autumn Equinox Rituals for Each Enneagram Type
Embodied Practices for Letting Go
The autumn equinox is the pause before a deep exhale— like the stillness at dusk before night settles in. A time that asks your body to slow, to steady, to surrender.
The trees show us how: they don’t cling to what’s finished. They release it. And what falls becomes nourishment for what’s next.
It’s a shift we can feel in ourselves, too. Our bodies lean toward slower mornings, warmer drinks, earlier nights. Our spirits long for balance, for steadiness, for ritual.
The equinox invites us to choose: what will we carry into the fertile quiet of the darker days ahead? And what are we ready to set down, letting it become compost for new growth?
Here are nine embodied rituals — one for each Enneagram type — to help you meet this turning of the seasons with presence.

🍂 An Autumn Equinox Ritual for Your Enneagram Type 🍂
Type 1 — The Improver
Set your bare feet on the earth. With every exhale, let the tight grip of perfection melt into the soil. Feel the ground hold it for you, steady and unconditional.
Type 2 — The Befriender
Hold your hands out in front of you. Imagine the weight of expectations and obligations you’ve been carrying for others. Open your palms and release them. Notice the lightness, the space where your own needs can finally breathe.
Type 3 — The Performer
Find a private space and take a deep breath. Let out a raw, primal scream — not polished, not for show. Feel the pressure of performance leave your body and the truth of your own voice rise up, unmasked.
Type 4 — The Individualist
Write a love letter to your inner child. Tell them they are already enough, in their mess and in their magic. Read it aloud with tenderness, then tuck it under a stone or tree root, letting the earth bear witness to your devotion.
Type 5 — The Observer
Lift your shoulders to your ears. Exhale with a heavy sigh, letting them drop. Repeat three times. With each release, imagine a wall dissolving — making space for connection, for warmth, for the nourishment of being known.
Type 6 — The Loyalist
Write one fear on a scrap of paper. Tuck it into your pocket and walk. With each step, whisper: I am supported. Feel the ground steady beneath you. When your walk is done, bury the paper in the earth and let it hold what you no longer need to carry.
Type 7 — The Enthusiast
Sit in stillness for seven minutes. No distractions. When restlessness rises, place your hand on your heart and whisper: I can stay. Let yourself taste the sweetness in the pause, where joy becomes deeper than distraction.
Type 8 — The Protector
Pick up a stone and squeeze it until you feel the strain. Then, on your exhale, set it down and walk away. Feel the release in your body — the reminder that true strength lives in your roots, not in your grip.
Type 9 — The Peacekeeper
Stand tall. Stomp one foot into the earth and declare: I matter. Do the same with the other foot. Alternate until the vibration of your voice and body echoes inside you. Let the earth remind you: your presence is part of the balance of life itself.
Balance doesn’t mean perfect. It means honoring both the light and the dark, the keeping and the letting go.
This equinox, let your ritual be less about “getting it right” and more about feeling it in your body. Because what you release isn’t wasted. It becomes the compost for your next season of growth.
As the days grow shorter, I’m leaning into simple rituals that make this season feel nourishing. If you’re ready to cozy up, I’ve gathered a few of my favourite fall comforts here.
